HI this is Sami and Ashley were doing a pod cast on the book Mississippi Trial 1955. This book takes place in the southern and northern racism era. The main character Hiram is a 16 year old boy who is living with his grandpa in Mississippi for the summer. His grandpa and dad have never gotten along so when Hiram’s dad decides to let Hiram go he is excited. Now Hiram meets a new friend named Emmett Till (who is black). Hiram and a friend named R.C. who is really racist go fishing they see Emmett. R.C. shoves Emmett to the ground because he wanted some of Hirams food. Soon Hiram hears about the death of Emmett Till and get’s twisted into the harsh trial. The suspects were Roy Bryant the towns general store owner and J.W. Milam his half brother and there is a third suspect, when you find out who it is you will be in shock. (tantalizing tidbits) This book will keep you at the edge of your seat, you will not want to put it down. Thanks for listening to our podcast. CEE’YA!!
