A Child Called It

Posted by smspodcasts on 29th November 2007

Pod-cast Hi, I’m Beth Loos. Today’s Nov. ____, 2007. Recently I’ve read “ A Child Called It.” This book is a true story about a young boy who had great early years of his life. Around the age of 6 or 7 his mom decided that he was a “Bad Boy.” When he really was a great boy. She tortured him to the extreme. You wouldn’t believe what this woman did to this little boy. Here’s some examples:

•    She tried to drown him in the full bathtub and also had him lay therefore hours. •    Locked him in the bathroom with suffocating cleaning cleansers . •    She stabbed him in the stomach with a knife. •    And she had him lay on a burning hot stove.

You’ll have to read of what all she did   to this poor little boy.

His daily life was:

“Wake up from sleeping on the army cot in the garage, perform morning chores, if he’s lucky gets leftover cereal from his brother’s. He runs to school steal food, return to the house, is forced to throw up in the toilet bowl to prove that he didn’t commit the crime of stealing food. He receives beatings or plays more of her “games.” Performs afternoon chores, then he ahs to sit at the bottom of the stairs in the P.O.W. position. [Prisoner of War] He sits there until he’s summoned upstairs to complete the evening chores. He could’ve been sitting there like that for hours. Then and only if he’s completed all his chores on time and if he’s not committed any crimes he may be feed a morsel of food.”

How did he survive? I encourage anybody who loves great books, who has a good heart, not afraid to cry, and wants to learn more about things that go on in this world to read this  awesome book. I loved it!
