Runner

Hi! Welcome to today’s podcast. I’m Jody and I’m Maddie. Today we will be talking about a book called Runner by Carl Dueker. This book is about a senior boy in high school named Chance Taylor. Chance deals with things that kids his age should never deal with. His dad is an alcoholic who can’t keep a job so he has to make a living for them both including food and bills. They are about to go homeless until Chance runs into a fat guy who is offering him a job that pays incredible amounts of money, and all he has to do is run everyday as he always does but while he is doing this he has to look for packages by the maple tree by the seashore. Chance is suspicious but takes the job. Everything is going fine until Melissa a girl from Chance’s school gets suspicious of what he is doing. Chance then doesn’t know what to do for the sake of his life and for others. [TANTILIZING TIDBITS] To find out what happens to Chance, his dad, Melissa, and even the fat guy you’ll have to read the book but we will tell you one thing what is in the packages, it is worse then drugs.
